As part of effective communication, every one of us is required at times to engage a work colleague in a conversation that is difficult but necessary and it requires courage. It may be a behavioural issue or a performance issue that is posing a risk to the individuals, team or ultimately the organisation. Early intervention is the key to resolving conflict, but our natural human inclination is to avoid confrontation. The goal of the conversation is to work towards a solution to the problem while maintaining and even building the relationship. An additional goal of this workshop is to help leaders to develop a culture within the organisation where staff feel enabled to take responsibility for and manage their own inter-personal tensions.
